Polar Opposites

So I just came from a panel discussion with Big Boi (from Outkast), Chuck D (From Public Enemy), and Chrisette Michelle and they were talking about the dynamic between Black fathers and daughters. I'm completely down with that and everything, but that's not what I'm talking about today.

Today for the first time I made the connection between Chuck D and Flavor Flav. Okay so that's not necessarily true. I mean I know all about Public Enemy when I think historically. (Yes historically it's been almost 2o years) But the current day Flavor Flav is not the Flavor Flav from Public Enemy. Yes he was a bit crazy with his big ass clocks, but he wasn't necessarily coonin' around and turning women into a commodity on national television. Before he was part of a duo about fighting the powers that be. He was trying to change the way black people were perceived, and get the black community to develop a positive Black consciousness. Yet now, he wants the broad with the fattest ass, and the lightest skin. He's what every stereotype of a black man has been for the past 100 years. Loud, Brash, Monstrous Looking (he can't help that), and ignorant. It's quite a shame. He has multiple "Baby's Mamas" and he is the butt boy for the man.

I mean, who's really that ignorant to think that he's still looking for a girl? Obviously, it's not gonna work out, and these broads are just in it for the perceived fame and fortune. His coonishness has gotten to such a point that Chuck D denounced him. (Good for him) but it just makes me wonder. How were these two men, part of the same group and yet stand for completely different things.

You might think someone is down for the cause...but as soon as y'all get the money you never know what it'll do to people.

That is all.
