Proposition 8

So this is how I feel.

First they came for the Communists,
but I was not a communist so I did not speak out.
Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists,
but I was neither, so I did not speak out.
Then they came for the Jews,
but I was not a Jew so I did not speak out.
And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me.

Think about it. When they start encroaching on other people's rights, it's only a matter of time before they start taking away yours. I understand that people are wary because due to their certain religion they don't believe that it's a real marriage when two people of the same sex get married, but that's your free way to think. I honestly think that if two people love each other enough to create a bond or a covenant with each other they should be married. I for one am not completely familiar with the biblical texts, but I also do not want to take it out of context so I will just say this.

There was once upon a time that Black people were separated inside the church, many people used religion to make sure that Blacks were segregated from Whites throughout life, and to say that Segregation was God's plan. Some people may see this as a completely different situation, but I do not.

Just because Homosexuals will finally have the right to marry does not in anyway affect those who don't wish it to affect them. A priest, pastor, reverend, rabbi will not be forced to marry a gay couple, (and why would anyone want someone who is so against gay marriage to marry them anyways?) Speaking out against gay marriage or homosexuality will not be considered a hate crime. Americans are free to have their own opinions and beliefs and as a US citizen have certain inalienable rights, Homosexuals are still Americans.

It seems like a math equation to me.
