What I Want My Words to Do To You

it's rough y'all..

I want my words to reach you
with their lyrical fingers grasping the inner depths of your soul.
I want them to shock you
with their electric rhythm pulsing hurriedly through your body
I want them to tear past that hardened exterior
with intense allusions to penetrate the whole of you.

My words, are more than just a series of twenty-six letters randomly coupled together, through an alphabetical dating game.
they are more than a grouping of definitions to reach a common goal, while stopping to make sure the subjects and verbs aren't on their way to an altercation
they are more than vowels and consonants sliding down the tongue into unidentified ears and unenlightened minds.

My words are more than you know.

My words are a message, sent out through rain, sleet, snow, and sunshine
meant to touch the inner self and gaze into your outer being
They are a pulse, set to radiate with warmth and coldness,
caressing their receiver like a mother to her child, or stinging them with the ferocity of an angered hornet.
They are an unveiling, releasing your reticence, replacing each reserve with tremors of unstable emotions. Heartache, Lust, Ecstasy, Anxiety, Compassion, Grief

My Words can not be merely described by words.
My Words can only be described by you.

I wrote this after watching the documentary "What I want My Words To Do You" about Women prison inmates who used writing to discover themselves. Of course, their poem didn't have a direct audience, it was more general. While looking at it one more time, mine can be considered general, even though I wrote it for one person in particular.

Do you Love him

The fallen petal knows no life
It knows no love
yet generations of men covet
its beauty, charm, grace,
mystique in which this petal
captures it's bee in a trance
a lovespell.
Though it knows no life
and it knows no love

Yeah, I don't like this either

Here We Go Again

They sat.
Pacing in their heads.
Trying to play a game of mental mastermind
She was silently picking at the pills in her sweater
He was staring at the flicker on the screen of his phone.
They were talking.

I Feel.
I Think.
You Should.
I know.

He blinked.
She sighed.
A nervous laugh that didn't belong escaped into the room.
They stole glances at each other
Still trying to decipher the thoughts of the soul sitting across from them.
They were fighting.

But You.
That's Wrong.
I Can't
Oh Well.

She weeped
He mumbled
A silence hung dead in the air, to replace the life of their sound
They quietly reminisced about each other
Each praying that love would have treated them differently
They were giving up

She stood up,
He lied down
The door shut after her,
The pillow sank beneath him
and love closed behind them both.

Love's Assassin

I know Love.
Rather, I know Love's assassin
He creeps in the darkness,
only to smother my light
He carries no arrows
tipped with blood red hearts
Only, the heavy weight of despair
I never see him coming,
but I always watch him go
begging, pleading him to come back
and reverse what he has done

Every footstep he takes
is unwelcome
every breath he breathes
is unwanted
but still, he comes ominously
to break my happiness
He has no feelings,
Only looking for his next target
Stern Faced and Severe
His eyes never betraying his profession
only looking at the future
he is Love's Assassin
and I know him well

Wow that was a bit emo.

She Want's To Move

Artist: N.E.R.D.
Album: Fly or Die

Angsty Teen Poetry!

My heart hurts,
It burns, not with passion but with pain
of thousands of needles are pricking at it
trying to tear it open,
destroying my layers

I didn't think they could go so deep
I didn't let you in that far
so why are you hurting me so much
Why is my heart burning.

It's dropped down to my stomach
sagging with sorrow
slowly drumming to a melancholy beat
every pump reaches out for something that's not there

It longs to see your smile
To hear your words
Feel your warmth
and touch your heart.

Did I ever touch your heart
I know, I didn't let you in much
but you didn't let me in at all
you don't feel the hurt that I do
You'll never feel my pain.
